今週の英語記事では、サンタさんのトナカイ達について書きました。1回記事を読んでみて自分の力で意味を推測してから、下のボックスを開き、理解を深めていきましょう。
When Santa delivers presents on Christmas Eve, nine magic reindeer pull his sleigh. Their names are Rudolph, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen. At first, only Donner and Blitzen pulled Santa’s sleigh. Their names mean “thunder” and “lightning” in German, and they are the fastest reindeer. Later, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet and Cupid joined the team. Rudolph was the last reindeer to join after the song “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” made him famous in 1949. Now he is the most famous of the reindeer.
