Thanksgiving is an American public holiday which is held on the fourth Thursday of November every year. It is an important celebration for Americans. They usually spend the day with their families. During the day, people go to Thanksgiving parades and watch American football on TV. However, the most important part of the celebration is the dinner. Families have a big feast on Thanksgiving. They eat a big turkey with cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potato and many fall vegetables. For dessert, they usually eat pumpkin pie. Before the feast, every member of the family says one thing that they are thankful for. Thanksgiving began as a harvest festival, but now it is a day to spend time with your family and remember the good things in your life.
