今日の英語記事では、その「クッキー」と「ビスケット」の違いについて書きました。1回記事を読んでみて、意味を推測してから、下のボックスを開きながら理解を深めていきましょう。
Biscuits. Cookies. What’s the difference? The answer depends on where you live. In America, biscuits and cookies are both called “cookies”, while “biscuits” are a type of bread. In England, all biscuits and cookies are called “biscuits.” In Australia, we also usually say “biscuit.” When we hear “cookie,” we think of a larger biscuit that is soft and chewy. In Japan, both “biscuit” and “cookie” are used, but there is an official difference. A cookie must contain 40 percent fat and sugar, or more. If it contains less than that, it is a biscuit. Whichever name you use, biscuits and cookies are both delicious.
